Implementation of more than 1000 projects to control water, Fujian Quanzhou water quality compliance rate increased year by year

In order to improve the coastal environmental quality, Quanzhou has accelerated the comprehensive control of coastal environmental pollution since 2006. Up to now, the city has invested 13.293 billion yuan in the comprehensive control of environmental pollution in coastal waters (including key river basins), and has completed 1009 environmental control projects.

Before and after the "eight Fujian fishing day" in June 6th, there was a campaign of fishery multiplication and release in various parts of Fujian province. On the same day, the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government released more than 215 million seedlings in the waters outside Shenhu Bay, Meizhou Bay Quangang District and Weitouwan Jinjing Bay, which became the largest number of seedlings released in Quanzhou City.

According to introducing, for a long time, due to over fishing and other reasons, natural waters of black porgy resources are decreasing. Through the development of proliferation and release, it will effectively promote the restoration and growth of Black Bream fishery resources in Shenhu Bay, with ecological, economic and social benefits.

In addition to proliferation and release, Quanzhou City has made great efforts to promote the ecological environment rehabilitation of coastal wetlands. Since 2007, more than 8 million yuan has been invested in the coastal wetlands in Quanzhou Bay to control 3352 mu of alternanthera, planting 2252 mu of mangroves. There are 7,500 mu of mangrove planted in Luoyang estuary of Quanzhou Bay, which is the largest area of mangrove planted in China. The Qingshan Bay and Xisha Bay beach restoration projects were completed in June 2014, which effectively promoted the sustainable and healthy development of the local coastal tourism industry and marine economy. Since 2012, 16 marine workers have been supervised and promoted. The owner of the project invested 2.136 million yuan, released 38.2 million shrimp fry and more than 5 million fish fry.

In addition, the local government has also implemented the island ecological environment renovation project, and carried out the coastal drift garbage treatment and other work.

In the past five years, Quanzhou has invested a total of 347 million yuan, organized and compiled relevant plans for coastal resources and environmental protection, carried out research on coastal beach protection, and completed ten major projects and 52 projects, such as the demolition of "two violations" of coastal zone and the clearance of beach culture.

Through five years of centralized protection and renovation, pollution and sedimentation in the coastal zone from Chongwu to Xiumu have been cured, beach culture has been completely eliminated, illegal construction of "two violations" has been completely dismantled, illegal phenomena such as illegal exploitation of sea sand have been curbed, damaged seawalls and key beaches have been repaired, and infrastructure such as environmental protection and lighting in coastal zones have been gradually completed. Good, long-term mechanism for resource and environmental protection was basically established.
